Welcome to Armantrout StudioArmantrout Studio is the working studio and gallery of artist Linda Armantrout in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The studio and gallery are open year round by appointment and always for the Eldorado Studio Tour. The 32nd Annual Eldorado Studio Tour is on September 21 and 22, 2024. During her career, Linda has been encouraged by curators, Sally L. Perisho, Ken Bloom, Jimmy Sellars, and Jerry Allen Gilmore. Her work was selected into group exhibits by Dianne Vanderlip and Gwen Chanzit , and she received a juror’s award from Debra Jordy. stephen Parise is showing Armantrout's work at Big Happy Gallery in Santa Fe.

Linda is writing a workbook to share the content of her Online Class in an abbreviated form. The material benefits advanced and beginning artists. The book will be self published soon so check back for links and free give aways.

White Calf of PeaceA White Buffalo Calf was born on June 17th, during the Royal Gorge Fire. Mother and Calf are doing well. If you follow my work you know I have been painting and drawing Buffalo with White Calf for awhile now. Visiting Taos for five days filled with art and grace. I will blog each day this week on one part of this rich trip. Doc Martin's, Nancy Ortenstone Gallery on Bent Street, galleries on Kit Carson Road and Ledoux Street, the Harwood Museum celebrating RC Gorman and Jim Wagner, Old World Art, Two Graces Gallery, Old Martinez Hall overlooking St. Francis of Assisi Church, Del Orr's Trading Post, Taos Opera Institute performance, Kathleen Brennan's fine art photos and video, Rancho Milagro Gallery, and a bear crossed our path on the way home.

Each painting requires focused preparation. Sometimes the artist reads or writes or meditates. Linda almost always sketches and then makes color squares, sometimes a large charcoal preliminary sketch is made. Lately a series of oil on paper originals will inform the next large canvases. These originals on paper make an affordable offering, sold unframed. See Available Paintings.
