Rough God Comes Riding

"Rough God Comes Riding" was painted as a response to Katrina. The original was sold in 2008. A full size Giclee 1/25 Limited Edition was sold in 2012. It seems appropriate to post this piece during our ongoing flooding. We are still in rescue mode in Colorado, and we are looking forward to the rain stopping so we can rebuild our communities. I will post this until we can start the restoration. If you order a Giclee while this is posted, I will contribute 50% of the proceeds to the rebuild. Thanks for the prayers and help we are getting during the rescue. Offer ends December 31, 2013.

The Music Inspires the Art process

Power Image #7-Connection to Ancestors/30"x40"/oil on canvas.Linda Painting Connection to Ancestors 2, Listening to Honor the Earth CD.In 2000, Linda followed the Honor the Earth Tour across Montana. The Tour was put together by the Indigo Girls and featured Bonnie Raitt and Joan Baez, Indigenous, and Dar Williams. The focus of the Tour was to save the Buffalo of Yellowstone, and voter registration on the reservation lands was the strategy. The influence of the Music of the tour showed up in Linda's paintings. The Power Images evolved into the Connection to Ancestors Series that includes the recent Bison paintings. Linda painted to the double CD and wore it out and replaced it. You can find the rhythms and the palettes of the music in the work. Last night, Linda heard the Indigo concert at Chautauqua Park in Boulder and brought home new inspiration. Please review Studio News to see sold paintings and Available Paintings to see inventory. Please learn more about Honor the Earth and the current focus. Thank you Amy and Emily for constantly evolving music and civic ideas.
