Armantrout Paints LARGE

With encouragement from Jerry Allen Gilmore to paint larger, I started in the fall of 2008, to create a rigging that would allow me to paint a 67"x88" in my Studio. I bought the widest raw canvas available by roll in Denver. Then Kathy Davis at Davis Tent & Awning sewed seams on the sides and at top and bottom with room for rods. I devised a pulley system with clothes line that I could attach to both ends of the top rod and then tie to the railing. Then I was able to lower the piece to the family room level behind the piano to paint it. It was simpler and safer than scaffolding.
