The Power Images at CFA Gallery

Linda Armantrout seeks to make paintings with content that connects to the viewers heart or ancestral knowledge. the artist painted a body of work, Horse Power as Spirit. The first Power Image came in a meditation. A series of twelve moving horses developed as metaphors for the Power of Spirit. Power Image No. 7- Connection to Ancestors is the basis for the two series that followed using symbolically charged animals and people as messengers of Spirit. Linda Armantrout will be showing the remaining Power Images from the Horse Power as Spirit series at Creative Framing Art Gallery, 916 Main Street, in the Louisville Arts District. In other news, there is one seat available in Armantrout's Color Theory Class. If you are ready to deepen your understanding of color relationships, this class is for you! Based on the color theory of Johannes Itten, this class will awaken your ability with color. Painting exercises with casein paint lead you to understand color contrasts and color harmonies. You will learn the difference between intensity and value. This class requires an interview and the intention of completing the 16 week program. Color Theory Students learn to mix and manage color.
